Advanced

The Advanced tab in Settings is the searchable catalog of every option that isn't surfaced in Region, Learning, or Engine. Most users never need to open it. Mirrors the in-app Settings → Advanced section.

Search

Advanced opens with a search box. Type any keyword (e.g. opacity, cache, port) and only matching sections stay visible. Faster than scrolling.

Sections

Advanced is grouped into collapsible sections. Defaults are tuned to work out of the box — change values only if you're chasing a specific issue.

  • OCR Engine — same selector as in Engine, surfaced again here for completeness.
  • Server Settings — engine mode (Default / Safe Mode). Safe Mode forces a conservative profile for when GPU init fails or VRAM is squeezed by another app.
  • Overlay & Display — auto-show overlay on capture start, pin main window, structural translation warnings, overlay translating indicator, pre-start confirmation, UI scale.
  • Capture & Library — auto-detect game pack changes, save screenshots for Album / share card, include game screenshot in share card, max saved session cards.
  • Translation Context — how much prior dialogue / glossary context is passed into each translation prompt.
  • Logging & Diagnostics — debug log level.
  • Translation Cache & Persistent Cache — in-memory and on-disk translation caching toggles.
  • Word Book backfill — what model fills in missing definitions for previously saved words during idle time.
  • Streak banner & Daily review — gamification chrome toggles.
  • Startup & Engine — launch at system startup, pre-load engine on launch.
  • General & Theme — UI language, color theme.
  • Maintenance — Clear Translation Cache, Reset All Settings, Open Data Folder.

When to touch Advanced

Common reasons to open Advanced:

  • Engine fails to start → try Server Settings → Safe Mode, or switch OCR Engine.
  • Translations feel stale → toggle Translation Cache.
  • Cleaning up disk usage → Maintenance → Clear Translation Cache or Open Data Folder.
  • Reverting to defaults after experimenting → Maintenance → Reset All Settings.
