Sentences

Sentences is your curated collection of whole lines worth keeping — quotable dialogue, useful phrases, lines you want to revisit. Where Words holds individual vocabulary, Sentences holds the surrounding context.

Saving a sentence

Two ways a sentence ends up here:

  • From the Log — hit the + button on any log entry to save it as a sentence.
  • Auto-save — when Settings → Learning → Auto-save is on, lines above the difficulty threshold are saved as you play.

Each sentence keeps its original text, translation, source language pair, and a link back to the capture it came from.

Browse & search

The Sentences list scrolls newest-first. The search bar matches both original and translation text. Click any row to open the detail view on the right.

Use the export buttons to dump your collection to TSV or CSV — handy if you want to import into Anki, a spreadsheet, or another study tool.

Detail view

Selecting a sentence opens a side panel with:

  • Original + translation — full text in a comfortable reading size, with inline edit buttons for fixing OCR mistakes or polishing wording.
  • Grammar — on-demand grammar breakdown. Regenerate if the first pass isn't useful.
  • Listen — TTS playback of the original line. Great for shadowing.
  • Cross-links — jump to the source Album scene when the sentence came from a saved capture.

Removing & limits

Hit the × on a row to remove a sentence you no longer want. Removal is local-only and doesn't touch the original log entry or album scene it came from.

The Sentence Book has an upper bound on the Free edition; once reached, new sentences won't auto-save until you remove some or upgrade. The Steam edition is unbounded.
