Region
The Region tab in Settings controls where Playto reads text on screen and how often it checks. Mirrors the in-app Settings → Region section.
Capture mode
Two ways to tell Playto which part of the screen to read:
- Cursor Follow — a box tracks your mouse pointer. Up to 5 presets (different sizes / region types) can be saved and switched with a shortcut.
- Fixed Region — pin a rectangle to fixed screen coordinates. Useful when dialogue or subtitles always appear in the same spot.
Each preset / region has its own size (W × H) and offset (X / Y), editable directly in the section.
Region type
Each region carries a type that tells the translation prompt what kind of text to expect — dialogue, UI labels, item names, narration, or auto-detect. Selecting the right type produces cleaner translations because the LLM is primed with the right register.
The type is set inline next to each region / preset, with a tooltip explaining the differences.
Auto capture & responsiveness
Auto Capture — when on, Playto checks the region continuously and runs a translation whenever the text changes. When off, captures fire only via shortcut.
Responsiveness — how often the screen is sampled while Auto Capture is on:
- Light — lowest GPU load, slower reaction
- Balanced — default
- Fast — quickest reaction, higher GPU load
Pick based on how demanding your game is on the GPU.
Preview
Hit Preview to see exactly what Playto sees in the configured region — useful for tuning fixed-region coordinates before starting a session.
